One of the longest running councillors in Camden, when he stood down in 2022 he was given the title Alderman. First elected in 1964 he served a total of 38 years in 2 stints. He attended the first meeting of the new Camden Council. Mayor of Camden in 2001, he was later awarded an OBE. Grew up in Glasgow.
