New Gravel Pit Chapel - names

Erection date: 1999

Inscription

In memoriam
{followed by a list of 10 names radiating from the centre, see Subjects commemorated.}

Given that the garden behind this wall was part of the graveyard around New Gravel Pit Chapel we think these names might have been recorded off gravestones that were found in that garden.

Site: New Gravel Pit Chapel (3 memorials)

E9, Mead Place

In our photo the plaque is lost behind the bramble branches to the right of the right-most panel. We have captured 2 of the c.5 sculpted panels. The others are either impossible to see through the (quite spiky) foliage, or represent purely decorative elements, such as plants, and contain no historic or commemorative items, as far as we could see.
