Michael John Stears 1934 - 1999. Born in Uxbridge 25th August 1934. Resided here until 1960. John Stears known as the 'Dean of Special Effects' was a multiple award winning visual and special effects expert.

Star Wars - Academy Award (Oscar) visual effects 1977.
Star Wars - The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy Horror Films (Saturn Award) 1977.
