Site: Battersea Town Hall / Arts Centre (4 memorials)

SW11, Lavender Hill, Battersea Arts Centre

This building was the Battersea Town Hall 1893 - 1965, and became the Battersea Arts Centre in 1974. Suffered a bad fire in 2015.

The Platinum jubilee plaque is laid into the pavement in front of the building. All the other plaques are inside the building. The John Major plaque is just inside the front door. The Neighbour plaque (dating from the Town Hall days) is on the east side of the building near the magnificent stained glass dome. The Studio 1 plaque is in the public space near the front of the building, presumably, near Studio 1.

The mosaic floor in the entrance area is wonderfully decorated with bees.
