Plaque: City of London School - EC4, Embankment
Erection date: 14/10/1880
This foundation stone of The City of London School (endowed by John Carpenter in the year 1442, established under an Act of Parliament of the year 1834 by the Corporation of London in Honey Lane Market, Cheapside and removed thence to this site in the year 1883) was laid on the 14th day of October 1880 in the mayorality of Sir Francis Wyatt Truscott, Knt. by
John Edward Walford Esq CC - Chairman of the Committee
Davis & Emanuel - Archts
John Mowlem & Co - Builders
Wikipedia gives the architects as "Davis and Emanuel Pevsner". We believe this to be an error, that has been widely copied.

We've listed these statues left to right across the front of the building, with More all on his lonesome on the west (left) facade. Aren't the three double-tiered turrets a delight?
