E2, Bethnal Green Road, Museum Gardens

This plaque is about a third of a mile to the east of 419 Bethnal Green Road, the site of the 2004 fire. From 2017 East London Advertiser: "Fire crews from Whitechapel and Bethnal Green hold an annual minute’s silence at 8am every July 20 outside 419 Bethnal Green Road, which remains derelict 13 years on."

2021: Building still looks unoccupied.

This memorial is only a few yards away from another memorial to people who died in a fire trying to save others, a hundred years earlier: the Denman fountain.
