Tom Moore

Irish poet, singer and songwriter. Born Dublin. Studied law at the Middle Temple. A sample of one of his ballads:
'Tis the last rose of summer
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone.
Byron, a friend, wrote:
What are you doing now,
Oh Thomas Moore?
Sighing or suing now,
Rhyming or wooing now,
Billing or cooing now,
Which, Thomas Moore?
Died at home in Wiltshire.
