Searching for a map showing the site of the vicarage we were delighted to find this 1893 map which also shows the relocated church porch (top right corner of the vicarage garden).

Philosopher and Franciscan friar. Born Somerset. An early proponent of the modern scientific method. He studied at Oxford where there is a statue.
David Nasmith
Mission founder. Born Glasgow. Set up numerous missions mainly in cities, travelling to Ireland the United States, Canada and France to do so. Died Guildford. Buried in Bunhill burial ground.
Guardian Angels Church & School
The church on the Mile End Road was opened in 1903, the school, shown in this picture, behind the church, in 1896. Both funded by the Howard Family of Norfolk.
St Martin within Ludgate
The mediaeval church dates from 1174. Rebuilt in 1437 and then destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666. Rebuilt by Christopher Wren 1680.
British and Foreign Bible Society
