Sir Samuel John Gurney Hoare, Viscount Templewood

Politician. Born London, grandson of John Gurney Hoare, into the banking family, originally Quaker but Catholic by this time. Married Lady Maud Lygon and had their London home at 18 Cadogan Gardens. Chairman of the Fire Brigade Committee of the London County Council in 1908. Died at his London home, 12a Eaton Mansions, Chelsea. (His father Sir Samuel Hoare sold Inverforth House.)
