Sir Brian Tuke

Administrator. He was secretary to King Henry VIII and Cardinal Wolsey, and treasurer of the household. In 1517, he was appointed to the office of Governor of the King's Posts, a precursor to the office of Postmaster General of the United Kingdom. This office lasted until the 1969 reorganisation of the governance of the Post Office.
