Raymond Ronald Wagner

Raymond Ronald Wagner was born on 18 January 1936 in Gratiot, Licking County, Ohio, USA, the son of Kenneth Wayne Wagner (1917-1981) and Mary E. Wagner née Odlivac (1916-2010). In October 1955 he married Norma Ruth Sked (1936-2020) in Ewing Township, Mercer County, New Jersey, USA, and they had four children, Raymond Wagner (1957-1961), Jenni Wagner, Carol Wagner and Raymond Wagner Jr.

Both our Picture Source and the Clipper Crew website give more information about him including his military service and that his employment commenced with Pan American World Airways in 1966.

He died, aged 52 years, on 21 December 1988 whilst serving as First Officer on Pan AM Flight 103 travelling from London (Heathrow) Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, when it exploded over Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. His body was buried in Pennington Cemetery, 413-417 South Main Street, PenningtonMercer CountyNew Jersey. He was survived by his wife, his daughters Jenni and Carol, and his son Raymond Jr.

He is also commemorated on both the Memorial to all the Victims and the World Wings International plaque that are at Dryfesdale Cemetery, Dumfries Road, Lockerbie, DG11 1HZ, as well as on the memorial cairn in Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
