Born as Michele Duberry on 27 June 1964, her birth was registered in the Romford, Essex, registration district. She was the third of the four children of George E. W. Duberry and Valerie Duberry née Martin. Telephone directories from 1975 show her father listed at 9 Brock Hill, Wickford, Essex.

In 1987 she married Stuart M. Beale, a builder, and they had two children, Joe Stuart Beale b.1995 and Elizabeth Anna Beale b.1996, both births being registered in the Chelmsford, Essex, registration district. They lived in Hillhouse Road, Billericay, Essex.

She had been employed for a year as a director of conferences with the London based company Risk Waters Group and died, aged 37 years, on 11 September 2001, when attending the inaugural Waters Financial Technology Congress in the Windows of the World Restaurant on the 106th floor of the North Tower, 1 World Trade Centre, New York, USA.
