1st Baron Aberdare. Born Dyffryn Aberdare, Glamorgan. Statesman, serving as Home Secretary and President of the Council. He reformed British licensing laws and headed a commission that established the ‘Official Table of Drops’, which listed how far people of particular weights should be dropped when hanged for a capital offence. Died 39 Princes Gardens.
