Lois Janet Peltz

Born as Lois Janet Lipkin in July 1936, the daughter of Herbert Hyman Lipkin (1901-1975) and Sadie Lipkin née Clein (1908-1961). Her birth was registered in the 3rd quarter of 1936 in the Wallasey registration district, Cheshire (now a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside). Her father was a dentist.

She married Dr Samuel Lionel Peltz (1932-2014) in the 3rd quarter of 1957 in the Liverpool registration district, Lancashire (now Merseyside). They had two children: Nichola Peltz whose birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1959 in the Liverpool South registration district, Lancashire (now Merseyside) and Daniel Peltz whose birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1961 in the Bromley registration district, Kent (now Greater London).

Electoral registers in 1959 show her listed with her husband and his parents at 19 Wren Avenue, London, NW2 and in 1964 & 1965 she and her husband were listed at 34 Westland Drive, West Wickham, Bromley, Kent (now Greater London).

She held five appointments that were registered at Companies House, Crown Way, Cardiff, CF14 3UZ and electoral registers from 2003 to 2010 show her and her husband listed at Flat 4, Connaught House, Mount Row, London, W1K 3RA.

Our Picture Source and the Ben Uri Gallery & Museum website both give much information about this lady and confirm that she was a porcelain artist and painter in addition to having been an Independent councillor on Westminster City Council

She is shown as Ward Councillor Mrs Lois Peltz on the St James's Residences memorial at 23 Brewer Street, London, W1.
