John Hiccocks

John Hiccocks

From Osbert Sitwell's 1928 'People's Album of London Statues' (pp 71-2): "John Mills Hiccocks, son and heir of William Hiccocks of South Lambeth, Surrey, was admitted as a member of the Middle Temple on the 16th October 1683. He was called to the Bar on May 30th 1690, and had a chamber in Lamb Buildings in 1702."

The Peerage provides:
He married Elizabeth Hall, widow of Sir John Buckworth and daughter of John Hall, on 13 August 1712 at Westminster Abbey. He was buried on 19 April 1726 at Temple Church.  He held the office of Master in Chancery between 1702 and 1723.
