Henry Fox, Baron Holland

First Baron Holland. Held a number of senior posts but never made PM nor gained the earldom that he desired. But he did gain financially from his roles and was not a popular man. Father of Charles James Fox. Died in Holland House.

Owned 401 slaves.Express Informer provides "‘By the unexpected death of his wife’s first husband in 1800, Holland found himself the reluctant, but effectual proprietor of the Vassall plantations in Jamaica." He claimed to abhor slavery, but apparently not enough to free the slaves as soon as they came into his ownership.
