Helena Aniela Zdzislawa Fedorowicz

We could find no information about Helena Fedorowicz. The memorial says that she fought for her family, the Woodstock Road Association and the Polish people. We guessed that she lived in Woodstock Road. See our page for the Woodstock Road Association for a possible explanation of what that fight was. Poland certainly went through turbulent times during Fedorowicz's lifetime.

We have marked this page as a puzzle since we have so little information and the memorial suggests there is a lot to know.

Since then, our colleague Andrew Behan found her full name in probate records that confirmed she lived at 48 Woodstock Road, London, N4, that she died on 8 September 1993 and that when probate was granted on 3 December 1993 her effects were listed as not exceeding £125,000. He also found that when her death was registered in the Islington registration district in September 1993 her date of birth was recorded as 25 July 1925 and her age was given as 68 years. This is at variance with the 1926 year of birth on the memorial.
