Albert Woodfox was an American known as one of the Angola Three (Robert King, Herman Wallace and Woodfox) former prisoners who were held at Louisiana State Penitentiary in solitary confinement for decades after being convicted for the murder of Brent Miller (1949-1972), a prison guard on 17 April 1972. Woodfox was released on 19 February 2016, his 69th birthday.

His obituary in The Guardian newspaper shows that he died, aged 75 years, on 4 August 2022 from complications caused by Covid.
