Our Lady of Willesden - WW1

Inscription

{Below the crucifix:}
Erected to perpetuate the memory of the men of the parish of Our Lady of Willesden who lost their lives in the Great War of 1914 - 1919.

The names are listed on two panels either side of the door but that to the right, east, is too weather-worn to be legible. We were grateful to find the list of names at IWM, where there are 42 names in alphabetical sequence. We noticed that on the panels the names are listed in no obvious sequence other than Father Collins being the first.

The WW1 memorial plaque is above the entrance, with the names listed on two panels, one either side of the entrance, set at an angle. The WW2 plaque is to the left of the entrance. See also the panel about the Shrine.
