Bowler plaque - Ship in Bottle
Bowler plaque - Ship in Bottle

Erection date: 1995

We failed to find this in Dec-Jan 2017, even with the exact address. It shows a ship inside a bottle. This cast-iron roundel is one of 22 - see Bowler's page for more details.

E1, Commercial Street, 76

Bowler’s booklet specifies 76 Commercial Street, saying it was originally Shah Jalal Restaurant, a seaman’s café popular in the 1930 with Syhleti sailors. This is probably the café mentioned by Bowler when commenting on the other sailor-related plaque.
