All Saints Poplar WW1 memorial

Erection date: 1922

Tower Hamlets local list gives: "The memorial which is inscribed “TO OUR GLORIOUS DEAD, 1914 – 1918” was unveiled in 1922 by the Suffragan Bishop of Stepney {Henry Mosley}." The IWM page repeats that and adds that there are 11 names on the memorial.  However we have inspected the memorial and we can find no inscription. The IWM list consists of surnames only, and only runs from B to L, which suggests the inscription may be badly weathered.  Perhaps if we'd looked closer....
