The buildings in our photo of the old site have been replaced and the plaque has been moved to a building behind.
We took this photo on the 2018 'Run Hackney' day, though quite a few of them were actually walking the half marathon. The street art in Hackney streets is (was?) worth a visit alone. We like the way these men and black horses are practically forming a rugby scrum, jumping up for the plaque/ball.
Site: Alexander Parkes and Parkesine (2 memorials)
E9, Wallis Road, 85, HTA
CgMs, an archaeological desk-based assessment, contains some maps of the area, at least one of which shows the Parksine {sic} Works, on this site. With the Atlas Works next door.
2025: Mr Little informed us that Hackney Wick and Fish Island have undergone extensive redevelopment, causing this plaque to be moved. It's now on a building set back from Wallis Road, on the north side of a courtyard. We've moved our pin accordingly. Our thanks to HTA for putting this photo on their website.
We've kept the photo of the previous location which was in Berkshire Road, at the junction with Felstead Road.
