St Mary's Primrose Hill war memorial - first

Inscription

{A line of fading text runs along above the the names. On the two end walls:}
1914 - 1918

{and on the main inner section of the monument:}
Their names liveth for evermore.

{Below this are 40 names, all but 3 from WW1. See Subjects commemorated for the list.}

The monument is very weather-worn but the two panels containing the names are crisp so we think they have been recently re-carved. WW2 surprisingly required the addition of only two names, and one name was added for the Falklands War. The WW1 names are listed alphabetically with the exception of Cecil Duncan Jones, which is placed as if his surname was Duncan-Jones, which it was, certainly at one time.
