All the street signage and the intimidating shutters make this building difficult to photograph. It is actually a rather nice small villa in the Georgian style.
Dr Farman's patients in Hampstead were similarly moved to raise a plaque.

The plaque gives his birth year as 1863, when, according to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, it was 1869.
Left to right: Mackmurdo, Williams, Thornycroft. All in a similar design so presumably erected by the same organisation - possibly a form...
This building was/is the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson and Obstetric Hospital.
We don't understand the "L.L.A.D." on the plaque - perhaps the erecting organisation? Please let us know if you have an explanation.
