Inscription

Ford Madox Ford, 1873 - 1939, novelist and critic, lived here.
Greater London Council

Site: Ford Madox Ford - W8 (1 memorial)

W8, Campden Hill Road, 80

Ford lived here for a few years with his mistress Violet Hunt and at the time the address was according to RBKC (who have a 1966 photo of the house), South Lodge, because an astronomer called James South had built an observatory in the house. We think Sir Victor Horsley may have been born here.
