Sir Francis Chantrey

Sculptor. Born Francis Leggatt Chantry at Jordanthorpe, near Norton, Derbyshire. Sculpted busts and statues of many famous people of the time. Left the Chantrey Bequest (or Chantrey Fund) for purchasing works of art for the nation.
