This 1922 painting is captioned at source (City of London Corporation): "Sir Percy Coleman Simmons (1875–1939), Mayor; Richard Jack (1866–1952); Guildhall Art Gallery". That claim, that Simmons was 'Mayor' is the only reference we can find to this achievement so we think it may be a mistake.
Shutterstock hold a photo of a rather mismatched bride and groom, captioned "Wedding Of Sir Percy Simmons And Lady Simmons 1931".
