Categories: Aviation, Tragedy

Countries: Scotland, USA

Paul Isaac Garrett was born on 16 November 1947 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, USA, the son of Ernest E Garrett (1926-2015) and Nadine Garrett.

Our Picture Source informs that he started working for Pan American World Airways on 14 May 1973 and the Clipper Crew website states that he was married to his wife, Dominique. It also claims he was born in Miami, Florida, USA, but the United States, Social Security Applications and Claims Index, gives Jacksonville as his place of birth.

He died, aged 41 years, on 21 December 1988 whilst working as a flight attendant aboard Pan AM Flight 103 travelling from London (Heathrow) Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, when it exploded over Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.

He is also commemorated on both the Memorial to all the Victims and the World Wings International plaque that are at Dryfesdale Cemetery, Dumfries Road, Lockerbie, DG11 1HZ, as well as on the memorial cairn in Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
