Commemorated on a memorial as having died in WW1.

Soldier. Born Geoffrey St. George Shillington Cather in Streatham. In September 1914 he enlisted in the Artists Rifles, and in the following year transferred to the Royal Irish Fusiliers. He was sent to the French sector of the western front in 1915 and was promoted to lieutenant. In the opening day of the Battle of the Somme, his battalion incurred many casualties. At night he went out to no mans land and recovered three of his wounded men. The following morning he went out again but was killed by machine gun fire. For his actions he was awarded the Victoria Cross.
