Kingston Hospital - flying bomb

Categories: Tragedy

The bomb landed on a tennis court by the nurses’ home. It destroyed the outpatients'  department and badly damaged many other areas including the casualty department.

On this 1940 map the building with the plaque is the one immediately to the north-west of the building labelled 'Laundry'. We'd guess that the pair of oblongs between these buildings are the tennis courts. All but the building with the plaque are now lost.
