General Wladyslaw Sikorski

Prime Minister of the war-time London-based Polish Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Polish armed forces.

In his 1970 play, Soldiers, Rolf Hochhuth accuses Churchill of murdering Sikorski. For more on this conspiracy theory of his death in an air crash near Gibraltar click on the picture source web site. His Wikipedia page gives a biography of his life.

In the picture, left to right: Sikorski, General Kukiel, Clementine and Winston Churchill and the Polish ambassador Count Raczynski.

The Sikorski Museum at 20 Princes Gate has a room dedicated to him.
