Illustrator. Born Charles William James Keeping in Lambeth. Initially he worked as an illustrator of children's books, and then undertook for the Folio Society, the massive task of illustrating all of Charles Dickens' works. He also drew cartoons for the Jewish Chronicle and Punch magazine. He was married to fellow artist Renate Meyer.
