Viscount Wakefield of Hythe, Charles Cheers

Businessman. Born Liverpool. His brand name being Castrol he was very successful and set up in the City of London. Lord Mayor in 1915-16. Promoted and funded pioneering aviation and motor sports. 1933 set up the Tower Hill Improvement Trust with Tubby Clayton and then set up the Wakefield Trust, to which he gave a number of houses in the Tower Hill area, initially to help All Hallows by the Tower and Toc H. It continues doing good works.
