Marchioness at Southwark Cathedral

In remembrance of all those who drowned when the motor vessel Marchioness was struck near Southwark Bridge on Sunday 20 August 1989.
Many waters cannot quench love.
{Above the plaque is a tablet with the names of the 51 victims of the disaster. See commemorated subjects:}

The quotation is from the Song of Solomon 8:7
"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it".
