Anarchists

Inscription

{Plaque near the entrance to the alley:}
This project was carried out with Freedom Press and the Whitechapel Art Gallery in association with Free Form Arts Trust: project artist Anya Patel. Funded by the Bethnal Green City Challenge Co. with the kind co-operation of Tower Hamlets Council and local businesses.

{Each portrait is named below and they are arranged in alphabetical sequence, by first name.}

This art work is in the style of Donald Rooum. He was the Anarchists' self-effacing 'house artist' and chose to be photographed in front of it, so although we cannot find confirmation, we are crediting him.
