The Lord Mayor's National Thanksgiving Fund, 1950, gave and endowed this building.

Carved on the wall to the right of the front door:
"William Goodenough House, 1957
Goodenough College"

This building replaced houses destroyed or badly damaged by WW2 bombs, one of which forced Virginia Woolf to vacate.
