Site: Karl Marx - NW3 (2 memorials)

NW3, Maitland Park Road

Marx lived at no 41 but this whole area has been redeveloped since Marx's time. And no, we have no idea what the strange pillar object is in the photograph.

A friend, who lives nearby, contacted us to say: “The 'strange pillar' was part of a MA project at Goldsmiths in 2007 and was created by artist Tim Cole to celebrate the last years of his life that Karl Marx spent in Maitland Park, along with a handcart and other plant sculptures.  The pillar no longer exists.”
