Erection date: 6/11/1996

Site: West Silvertown Urban Village (1 memorial)

E16, Wesley Avenue

In our photo the plaque can be seen in the paving, in the shadow but catching the light.

Quite a dull foundation stone which we may not have collected, had it not given us the opportunity to draw your attention to the Royal Victoria Bridge which you can see diagonalling away in the top left of our photo. Its rather slow and clanking lift is in the dark gray tower. The high walk across the old dock is magnificent, and free. Worth going out your way.

However we returned in 2022 and the lifts were not functioning which, for anyone unable to climb stairs, would be disastrous, and there was no signage apologising or even recognising the problem. The whole route felt unmaintained and unloved.
