Prince Arthur of Connaught. Born Arthur William Patrick Albert. Seventh child and third son of Queen Victoria. He entered the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich at 16 years old, and in 1900 was appointed Commander in Chief of the British Army in Ireland, and Governor General of Canada in 1911. 1874 Arthur was created a royal peer.
