But who is he? Is this his portrait? He looks rather wild. We can't identify him.

Damaged in WW2 this building was restored in 2007 to the original design for the facade overlooking Staple Inn garden, at least. We know all this because the wonderful Ornamental Passions tells us. The new structure incorporates two little memorials in the form of portrait keystones.
