The plaque seems to have been erected to celebrate 34 years which seems odd.
Our researches (see Brotherton's page) show that his dates are actually 1831 - 1882.

The (unhelpfully brick-coloured) plaque is to the bottom left of the small upstairs window. Perhaps that was his bedroom.
Edgar Allan Poe's maternal grandparents performed as actors at this theatre, which explains the Society's involvement in this plaque.
