Sir John Soane statue

Inscription

{Below the feet:}
Sir John Soane 1753 - 1837

Soane designed the Bank of England in 1793. It was rebuilt between the wars and little of Soane's acclaimed design remains; there is this great protective curtain wall surrounding the site and in the Museum on the site there is a reconstruction of The Bank Stock Office.

Site: Sir John Soane statue (1 memorial)

EC2, Lothbury, Bank of England

In the 1920s and 30s Sir John Soane's Bank of England was demolished, all but the ground floor curtain wall, and replaced with what's there today, by Herbert Baker.

Ornamental Passions has a great post with excellent photo, on this statue, and all the sculpture on the Bank of England.
