Private day school for young boys at 90 Queen's Gate, run by Orlando Henry Wagner (1867-1956) and his wife Monica. Operating before WW1 but we can't find start and end dates. An old boy, Michael MacLagan, wrote in 1995 “... the horse-drawn omnibus which bore us all to Battersea for games."

The scholar, Sir Anthony Wagner (1908-95), son of Orlando, attended the school, as did Nicholas Kemmer (1911-98).

2017: Via Facebook John Stevenson, very helpfully, told us "I was there from 1959-1961 - it was then still at 90 Queen's Gate. My grandfather, Orlando Wagner, opened the school in 1903 firstly at Alfred Place West moving to Queen's Gate in 1906."

2021-2: Selby Whittingham wrote to tell us: "I was there 1950-55, when the joint headmasters were Henry R Bowlby (1890-1965) and Edward J Lefroy (1893-1971). Bowlby was the son of Canon Henry Thomas Bowlby, headmaster of Lancing College. Lefroy, related to Jane Austen's friends, committed suicide." And "Lord Remnant CVO, 1930-2022 also attended the school (obituary, The Times, 2 April 2022)". And "Orlando Wagner was related to the wealthy High Church clergymen who built 5 churches at Brighton in a ecclesiastic tradition akin to that of Lancing College. See the new book on Victorian Churches by James Stevens Curl."
