Mahatma Gandhi

Indian politician, instrumental in India's independence. Born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi at Porbunder in Gujarat. Assassinated in Delhi on the way to prayers. There is another statue of Gandhi in Britain, in Leicester, unveiled in June 2009.
