Helena Gilluley

She was born as Helena Blanche Biggs on 27 September 1898 in Clerkenwell and her birth was registered in Holborn. She was one of the eight children of George William Biggs (1857-1938) and Ellen Marian Biggs née May (1865-1952). Her father was a Printer's Joiner and she was baptised on 30 October 1898 at the Church of Our Most Holy Redeemer, Exmouth Market, Clerkenwell. The baptismal register shows her recorded as Eleanor Blanche Biggs and the family address was given as 8 Easton Street, Clerkenwell.

The 1901 census shows her as Ellen Biggs, living at 12 Hallett's Place, Clerkenwell, with her parents and five siblings. She was still at this address with her parents and five siblings at the time of the 1911 census but was now recorded as Helen Biggs.

On 20 April 1924 she married Richard William Mustoe at the Church of the Holy Redeemer, Clerkenwell. The marriage register shows that he was a Furrier and they were both residing at 5 Wilmington Square, Clerkenwell.

The 1939 England and Wales Register shows them both still at 5 Wilmington Square, with their son, Richard W. Mustoe who had been born on 24 January 1925 and who was an Instrument Maker, together with her mother.

Her husband died and he was buried on 21 April 1951 in Islington.

In the third quarter of 1956 in the Finsbury registration district she married William Gilluley (1900-1964) and the 1961 electoral register shows them both living at 5 Wilmington Square, WC1. Her husband's death was registered in the second quarter of 1964 in the Finsbury registration district.

Telephone directories from 1973 to at least 1983 show her listed at 5 Wilmington Square, WC1.

She died, aged 89 years, on 30 December 1987 and her death was registered in the Camden registration district. She was cremated on 11 January 1988 in Islington.
