Borough Market

Categories: Commerce, Food & Drink

It was first mentioned in 1276, although there are claims that it has been in existence since 1014. The present buildings were designed in 1851 and an art deco entrance in Southwark Street was added in 1932. The market has been used many times as a film location, in, for example: 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'. See the Market's website for opening days/hours.

2014: Londonist celebrates the market's approximate birthday.
