Barry Evans

Categories: Cinema, TV & Radio

Actor. Born Barry Joseph Evans in Guildford, Surrey. He was abandoned as a baby, and brought up at the orphanage boarding schools run by the Shaftesbury Homes. His acting break was as the lead character in the 1968 film 'Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush'. He went on to star in the television programmes 'Doctor in the House' and 'Mind Your Language'. By the latter half of the 1980s his youthful appearance was working against him, as he found it difficult to obtain acting roles in keeping with his age. By the 1990s he was working as a minicab driver and was then found dead in his home. The cause of his death has never been established.
