Politician. Born Dora Creditor near Riga, Latvia, and known as Anna. Her family emigrated to Britain in 1903. After her first marriage failed, she met and married the future Labour Party leader Hugh Gaitskell. Created a life peer in 1964, with the title Baroness Gaitskell of Egremont. Died at her home 18 Frognall Gardens, Hampstead.
