Sir Alan Johnstone

Diplomat. Attended Eton, 1871-7. See his brother Francis for family information. Married an American heiress Antoinette Pinchot.

His job took him to Denmark, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Luxembourg. Uncle to Dennis Wheatley's second wife, the author put Johnstone, as "a courtly diplomat of the old school", into his novel 'The Second Seal' (1950).
