Voltaire, 1694 - 1778, French philosopher, playwright and satirist, lodged in a house on this site, 1727 - 1728.
Voltaire Foundation

The plaque was stolen some years ago. In 1994 (300th birthday) the Voltaire Foundation got it put back.

The building is inscribed with the name "Vaudeville Theatre".  It is now, 2013, used by the Hungarian Cultural Centre.
